OMAHA - As a cardiologist, Dr. Robert Hibbard gets to experience the thrill of caring for patients by taking advantage of medical advances that are “moving at the speed of light.”
“I enjoy cardiology because it advances so rapidly,” said Dr. Hibbard, who specializes in structural heart procedures. “So many things change in such a short period of time, and if you literally blink you've missed two new technologies.”
Dr. Hibbard hasn’t blinked yet. He brings over 30 years of experience to Methodist Physicians Clinic Heart Consultants, including expertise in transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).
He joins Methodist after 17 years at Bryan Heart in Lincoln, Nebraska. He had been the director of the Endovascular and Cardiac Cath Lab at Bryan Medical Center in Lincoln since 2005.
Dr. Hibbard earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wyoming and attended medical school at Creighton University School of Medicine. He completed an internship, residency and fellowship at Creighton.
While the evolution of medical technology excites him, it’s the long-term relationships and “life moments” with patients that he treasures.
“I have the opportunity to really intervene on their behalf and make them better,” he said.
Dr. Hibbard is now accepting appointments and referrals at Methodist Physicians Clinic Westroads Office Park (1120 N. 103rd Plaza). Appointments can be made by calling 402-391-5055.
